Thanks again for your business!

Spring Clean-up:

Evaluate issues that may need addressed later in the season.  Leaf and other debris are removed at this time.

Bed Edging:

Cut new bed lines to create the best aesthetic look possible.  This creates a small trench (2-4 inches deep) to hold back mulch.  We may use hand cutting tools or edging machines depending on size and location.  Utilities are marked prior to minimize disruption to your services.  Irrigation heads should be marked. Contact your irrigation company.

Structural Pruning:

This is our opportunity to re-structure your trees and shrubs prior to spring growth.  We can be very aggressive if necessary to push back overgrown plants or remove large amounts of material without risking the overall health of the plant.  We remove crossing and parallel branches to maximize the beauty of plantings.

Pre-Emergent Application:

We install a granular pre-emergent called SNAP-SHOT that is a broad spectrum weed controller. This pre-emergent can be placed directly on top of most perennials like daylily and hosta without any damage to their growth. It is a very versatile formula.  Applications must be seperated by 16 weeks.

Weed Weed Control:

Controlling weeds in landscape beds is always a challenge.  We are here to assist you in creating a weed free, groomed landscape.  We utilize ROUND-UP to control weeds that our pre-emergent has not controlled.  Round-up is a broad spectrum herbicide and can kill almost any plant with the right dosage.  The advantage comes in how it works.  Round-up can only be absorbed through the vascular tissue.  So spaying the leaves is what works.  But spraying the trunk of a tree will not hurt the tree because it cannot be absorbed.  Also, once Round-up is dry it is inert and cannot be transferred to another plant.

Mulch Installation:

We strive to provide only the best quality of mulches for our clients.  We utilize several sources for our mulches and only buy from reputable venders who buy from quality mulch producers.  Over mulching is a major problem is in our area.  We only recommend a maximum of 2 inches of mulch in any area of your landscape.  For most of our yearly mulching clients we only top-dress to slowly add volume and allow the mulch to breakdown at the same rate it is being applied.  Mulch should also be kept away from the base of trees and shrubs.  Burying a plant can lead to moisture being held against the stems and trunk where disease can then invade the plant.  Also, this mounding may encourage a secondary shallow root system to grow.

Summer Pruning--Shearing & Shaping:

We utilize mostly hand shears and pruners to shape your shrubs to give the landscape a groomed look.  We recommend following the natural form of the plants to maximize their natural beauty.  Some formal landscapes require different techniques and forms and we will work with you to protect your plants but and give you the look your landscape requires.

Fall Clean-up:

This is the final look at your landscape for the season.  We clean debris and leaves and do some minimal pruning.  This is a great time for removing declined plants if renovation is slated for the following season.
